Default New Windshield On

Put my new shield on yesterday (and chrome trim strip ).
I wentwith the Harley 91/2 inch tinted. I think it is perfect, that couple inches made a big difference. Ithink I'll be glad I didn't go shorter. I haven't rode it yet (snow) but the view seems right on.Once I decided I didn't want something and inch or soshorter, I wentwith HD. You can't get a better qualityshield thanthiers.Probably only cost me 20 bucks more than the best after market shield, out there.

I am looking for a shorter shield once it warms up. I hate looking through the shield but must admit that when it's cold the extra protection is great.

Is the 9 1/2 inches from the fairing to the top? Might sound like a dumb question but most shields I've had measured from the headlight opening up.

Yes, the height of the shield is measured from the top edge of the fairing. I will agree that HD has a good quality shield but they arent the only ones. I use a 7inch from Cee Baileys and it is a great quality shield. They also build windshields for aircraft.

You can use any of them you like. Rule of thumb is you should be able to see just over the top of the shield. I lowered my stock 12" to a smoked 10". Works and looks great, but go for whatever your heart desires.

I just put on the 9 1/2 inch re-curve from clear view, it's perfect, I can see over the windshield and when a car in front of me sprayed water at me from a puddle the windshield got sprayed and I didn't get sprayed.

I went with the Clearview Light smoke in 9.5 inches. Perfect optics, and the recurve kicks the air up and over, giving the same wind protection as the HD 12 inch shield did. Aircraft grade plastic also, that you can use Rain-X on, which is something you can-NOT do with a HD shield.
