Default It's supposed to be simple

Changing out the turn signals on an 07 FLHTC. Fairing's off, signal connector removed. Down to removing the wires from the lamp-side socket. Manual says use a Snap-on 600TT tool - which I don't have. I've tried a pin, jeweler's screwdriver, a jeweler's screwdriver that I reshaped - can't get the damn wires to release. What's the secret (other than buying the tool or suggesting HD ship the thing with the male socket already attached)?

Use a very small jewelers screwdriver. Go in behind and below the wires. There is a small tab you need to press down on to disengage the wire. Once you've done it once...you got it.

I use a large safety pin. Go in from the front of the plug, push in on the tab and lift up on the back of the safety pin.

you can buy the special pin release tool from most any auto parts store for about $14.00

this multi prong tool will fit almost every connector terminal on the bike.
