Had white bros. kit on my 95 and 97 ultras. No problems except fully loaded, two up and hwy speeds, did bottom a couple times.
Just bought 07 Ultra and thinking about the Ebay guys kit.

Lowered ours 1 1/2" bottomed out a few times when two-up remembered low air pressure in shocks, aired up shocks and now only bottom on big bumps.

..... On my kit they claimed no reduction of suspension travel, but I find it hard to believe this is possible.

Simple, the shock is the same length, it's just layed on more of an angle, the lower shock bolt pivot is back farther...the suspension IS the same length of travel. Similar to when the guys that raked out the front ends, ie. choppers, the suspension is the same length itis just layed on more of an angle too. ...now the only way to not have "suspension travel" is when it bottoms out on a fender. The shock itself didn't change, ifthe shockwas 11" b4, it still will be.

Yes, but to get full vertical suspension travel (i.e., like stock) given the full range of the shock after being lowered, the fender-to-tire clearance would have to be less at the shock's full compression (i.e., bottomed out). My only doubt is whether there's enough clearance available.

You should probably check but I think when you bottom out at that setting; your rear tire is hitting on the wiring harness for the rear. I've got an 07 also and the guy I got mine from said: Do NOT RIDE 2 UP WITH THE LOWEST SETTING.(TRW)

I did the same thing on my Ultra with the stock shocks and the lowering blocks. With the wife on and 50 psi in the shocks, still bottomed out on bigger bumps. I dropped the swing arm all the way down to see what it was hitting and I could see rub marks on the bottom side of the rear seat mount bolt. It is flat, around 3/4" round and about 1/4" thick so there isn't much room for modifying. As for the wire harness, it is a bit offset to the side but I could see some VERY slight rub marks there. I am sure with prolonged use it could wear through the wire harness or shred the tire on the bolt. I had mine lowered about an 1-1/2" to 1-3/4".

OK, I installed that $60.00 lowering kit from e-bay over the weekend. It is a great built kit and the install is very easy. It does change the angle of the shock but with the 1 inch drop its not much of an angle change. There are no clearance issues. I haven't gotten to ride it yet but I'm sure it will be fine. There are two more locations on the mount for 2 inch drop and 3 inch drop. I may try the 2 inch. I want to see how this rides first. It did make a noticeable difference. And it even seemed to me that the bike felt lighter getting it up off of the stand.

I know [sm=ttiwwp.gif]

they will come
