So here is the story, Yesterday I heard a rattle from the front end of my 08 Street Glide. I looked around and found that the bold holding the lower motor mount to the frame (on the left side by the kick stand) was loose. I tightened it at work the best I could using a screwdriver with the proper end but I could tell it wasn’t very tight. Sure enough when I got home the bolt was loose again.
I took the bolt out and put some BLUE locktite on it because that’s all I had. I tightened the bolt down good with wrench and it is a lot tighter now.
My question is this: I bought some RED locktight today...should I take the bolt out and put the Red on? Does that bolt need red?
Sorry if this is a Noob question, but I am not what you would call mechanically inclined so any advice from those who are would be appreciated.
Thanks,
- Mike
i don't know about the red loc-tight on the motor mount
iwould check with the dealer since you probably have your warranty
or shop manual for the right torque. red may cause you some grief
next time you have to work on that area of your bike
