Default Big Bore Question

I am looking to install a Stage 2 kit on my 2006 Street Glide before the riding season. I was considering buy the Screaming Eagle kit from the dealer, stage 2 for around $800. Is this the best option or should I be looking at something different?

Thanks

Take a look at www.head-quarters-usa.com They make one of the best and highest quality big bore kits available. They are a little more money, but they are much better quality that HD and make more power. That's my .02.

I have had the 103" Stage II big bore kit since early Jan. Have at least 900 miles on 103" since & I "Absolutly Love It"!!!
Kit has SE-255 Cams that give you low end torque from 1500 - 4000 rpm's ....Where you Ride At!!
You can always get more for more money, but I am pleased w/ whatI got.

Don't forget about your warranty. If you get an aftermarket kit your warranty will go away.

I have the 103 kit with 255 cams............. no complaints here. Everyone I ride with is stock, so I have a huge advantage on them, but still not all that it could be. I do believe that keeping the warranty is the main factor that would cause me to stay with SE parts at this time. After warranty is over............. maybe I'll build a powerhouse.

IMOP the SE is a waist of $$$...

Do what old.gezr said WWW.head-quarters-usa.com You will be very happy you did. Who gives a terd about the warranty I sure didn't 25,000 miles on my 95" and it will still eat up a SE 103"er...

I'm more than happy with my SE-equipped (OK, S&S cams and PCIII)bike. It turns over 100 hp and the parts were all compatible, and available at good discounts over the internet. My porter added 10 hp to the SE Hi-po heads and I'm off and running!

GK: You will get better value having your jugs bored (who needs an extra set of jugs gathering dust or messing with ebay to sell the take-offs), installing good forged pistons, and HQ-0034 cams (bolt in cams). If you go with the stage II HD package it will be a somewhat better performer than your stock set-up, but the SE-203 is a pretty meager cam, and you end up with an extra set ofjugs. (Just my .02).

Personally, I'd bet my 88 with just the HQ cams runs better than any Stage II; not as a hot rod, but as delivering more power in the 2K to 4500 rpm that I customarily ride in.

nothing wrong with the SE kits and if warranty is important to you it's the only way to go. Make sure the parts compliment each other (where have I heard this at)

I have a HQ's 103 with not quite 1000 miles on it -- it's a load of fun and I have a healthy respect for the motor-- It will easily pull the front wheel off the ground---not everyone wants or needs this --BUT--I do---already thinking about the next build---once you start the motor chit its worst than crack and just as expensive---

determine what you want out of your build, call a lot of peopleand come to an informed decision ---

Where are you located? HQ has a lot of good stuff and they really know what they are doing.
