Default check engine light

Today while cruising in 6th gear around 75mph, my check engine light came on. Down shifting to 5th, the light went out. Shifted back to 6th and about 20 miles later the light came on. Down shifting again, the light went out. Back into 6th and 40 miles later I arrived at home without the light coming back on.

Checked the oil level before & after ride and still at full mark.

Any ideas?

I'd start by checking the historical codes through the speedo and see if you have any. Then go from there.

It's an error code. You can check it as dawg said or your dealer will do it for you.

Just found that out and then went to 2007 Service Manual for "Check Engine Lamp Illuminates During Operation" their solution: Fault detected. Check for trouble codes.

Might have missed it, but didn't locate anythingin Service Manual for "trouble codes".

Thanks for the link, will print out tomorrow when I get ink for printer.

Again thanks for link and info...

Just post here and ask what P1653 is. You can still clear the code. I don't have 2007 EDM info on hand otherwise I could tell you.

dang you are good. Visited local shop (Eastern Performance) this am and they couldn't find it, called Annapolis HD. Service desk said, can't locate the diag message, will call you back. That was 1000 EST and still haven't heard back.

bigPeter what manual did you locate the code in?
