Victory Vision

IfI could afford one I wouldconsider a testride. And if I test rode one and it got me going like my Harley does I might buy it.A bike that doesn't need thousands in add onsstraight off the floor is appealing.
Been doing the Harley thing for 20 odd years (and to some of you I am probably still a newbie) My last bike was an 87 Heritage and it loved it from the day I bought it to the day I let it go.
I currently ride an 02 Ultra. Different relationship than with the Heritage. Nothing to look at (Jade Green), but it gets me where I want to go on more than one level. IfI could find that with a Jap bike I might be riding a GoldWing.
I just figure to each their own. The Vision may be more American than Harley in terms of content, but only time will tell whether it has soul. And you can't tell that just by looking at it.
Besides, if the Vision succeeds and impacts Harley's bottom line and maybe HD will start to care a little more about the folks that ride their product. (and if it doesn't maybe I'll pick one up cheap in a couple of years <G>

Cycle world mag did a comparason test of the Victory Vision and an 08 Road Glide. They said the RG handled better in slow situations but the vision was way better on the open road. They also said the Vision would leave the Glide like it wasen't there.

If ever there was a time that a quality American builtbig V Twin Full dressed tourer would have been a success its now!. So I ask the guys at Victory what the bloody hell were they THINKING?.
Just think about it HD forum members, Imagine how a great looking 100" V Twin that does'nt overheat, wallow in corners has enough power out of the box, feels and sounds right would sell ( and maybe put the wind up the MoCo ).
I hate to say it but the Vision will be a financial failure and the MoCo won't loose any sleep over the current Vision model.
Just my 2 cents worth

I just happen to be in the Victory dealer and was waiting on something and went over to the vision again. I kept looking at it thinking to myself YUK!!, but look at the coolfeatures. Well of course they offered to let me test ride one. I took it out for about a 30 min ride highway, some short twisties, etc.. played with the features. When hitting it hard it was ok but not what I expected in power. It wasn't that comfortable of a ride, I thought well it would need a differ seat etc... you know make it comfortable for me like we all do.
Get back to the dealer lookedat the bike and thought YUK!!! Then asked the dealer about add on's and was told goodluck, not really anything out yet. I looked at the bike again thought YUK!!!
Next day test road the SG and RG and for some reason Istarted liking the RG.I guess the shark fairing just grew on me. RG to me just road so much betterthen anything I have ever rode.
My only issuewith the RG is, on other bikes I knew when to get fuel because I would start getting tired at 130 or 150 mile ride.On the RG I forget about all that and 200 miles goes by fast.
