Thanks guys, but I will be hauling only one bike so I think the 6X12 will work fine. How do these tow with the short tongues. I saw an option for a 5.5' tongue but I'd prefer not to have the additional length of the standard works OK.
I just made a trip from MD to GA to buy a trailer. I went to Down2Earth Trailers in Baxley GA. I got a 7x16 V nose LACARGO trailer. I save over $2000.00 by driving to GA. I really like this trailer. It has 16 inch centers on both the side walls and floor with a 6 inch tube main frame. Tandum axles with Mag wheels and anodized sides on the lower part of the trailer. It looks great and tows well.
Be careful on what you get. I wold make sure it has 16 inch centers on both the floor and walls supports. Also 0.30 metal on the sides is a plus.
Give me a call if you have any more questions.

I've decided on a 6X12 tandem V nose for the occasion I need to haul my bike and camping gear. I have two questions you gents may be able to help with.
1. Does anyone know of a good source for used trailers? I found a few on e-bay but they seem to have a lot more new trailers that are made in Georgia. 2. Does anyone have any first hand experience with these Georgia made trailers?

Alot depends on what your towing with. If your towing say with a motorhome you dont want the box of the trailer so close to the MH that they can hit on a tight uphill turn. Some "V" nose short tongue trailers are tongue heavy even empty so you may need to position the bikes a little further aft.

mhud, both Pace & haulmark trailers have a manufacturing plant in Georgia as well as a couple of others I think. Sometimes you can go to the plant and pick up your trailer and the dealer will knock off the freight fee. Take a look at this site www.trailergiant.com they have some good pricing.
I ordered mine from Internet trailer sales. 6x10 Haulmark, black/ with stone guards, ramp and side door, electric brakes, stabilizers and vents. $2500 FOB tax included. You order it and when it is built, you pick it up at the factory nearest you. I would suggest that you get E track system and back up lights too. I put them on mine after I got it. Didn't think about it when I ordered it. Also paint the floor with non skid porch paint. What a life saver!
