after melting wifeys boots i tried wrapping crossover pipe with exhuast wrap it helped a little whent with pc111 (easy removale for warranty work) and no more heat issuse. and less luggin and less stumblin and more power it was all worth a few less mpg!
+++1 I could not stand the constant pinging in sixth gear (even tried 80 mph still pinged) and the excessive heat so I installed T-max, reinhart slipons, and a a/n super sucker and voila! no more pinging and the heat lessened greatly.
Same here. Installed SERT, Rinehart TD's, Arlen Mess Big Sucker. I think the heat has gone down, felt great this winter! I'll know for sure in a couple of months!
Mine is bone stock, and the pipes are a nice beige color. No pinging or overheating. I get about 42 mpg average. Don't know why mine is different from all the guys who post these problems. Been that way since day one.
Does a stockc 2007 flhtc run lean. I haven't changed pipes or air intake. The pipes look black and the center of the spark plugs is light brown.
they run slightly lean, and you will hear a bunch of doom and gloom on this forum.... but would the moco offer a 2 year, unlimited mileage warranty if they knew it was so lean as to burn holes in pistons or warp valves??? I don't think so..... your plugs sound like they look just right.
If you're happy with the way it runs and performs, ride the **** out of it and don't worry 'bout it, you're covered by the warranty, as long as you don't change anything.
