Default Communication Headset

I just added to the fleet a 2008 Ultra. If someone could provide some advise on the communication headset I would appreciate it. I have a Harley half helmet and would like some feedback from the group about using it with a half helmet. The placement of the ear piece. Or should I not use it with a half helmet. I typically ride solo but the Mrs. is showing some interest so I want to be prepared for this riding season if she wants to hop on and ride.

Check out J&M (John's a vendor here) - You would be better off with a 3\4 or full face helmet need to have a place to install the ear pads.. Have seen some do it with a 1\2 helmet and it just don't look right

I checked out J&M and it looks like a nice helmet. Thanks for the tip. I think I will wait and see how much I will use the comm package before I invest heavily in new helmets.

I got my 08 Ultra last fall, since the wife and I ride together a lot we got headsets in both of our helmets....actually I got 2, in a 3/4 and a full-face modular. When I'm alone and if I want to listen to music I will use a helmet as I prefer the helmet speakers....still like riding with a dew-rag once in awhile though, at least when I'm alone and its hot out.

Funny you should ask....I just got done screwing around with mine. I don't think I am ever gonna use it but I was curious. It comes with a clamp I believe to lock in the wire. I just took that clamp and intstalled it on my half helmet by the strap close to my ear. (clamped the strap) That actually worked. The strap also held in the ear pieces. If I do use it, it would only be for for the cb and I would have it go through the external speakers anyway.

Don't like the newer cords with the supplied harley headsets, older models (pre 98) were lighter and more user friendly.

The helmet pictured is exactly what i have been looking for with the comms setup for my Ultra. Has anyone used this helmet and can verify the comfort level and how well it works with the headset? I take it that it is a Harley helmet with a J&M headset.
