Default Rear Speaker Wire Colors

I'm installing a sound system.

Does anyone with a manual (schematic diagrams in back of the book)know the specific colors of the four rear speaker wires exiting the rear of the factory '07 HK Advanced Audio head unit?

Thanks!

Bump.

If anyone has an '07 Touring Service Manual, the schematic with the wire designations should be in the back of the book. Can anyone help me out? I have not gotten a manual yet, and this is the only part I need one for on this project.

Thanks!

OK. Maybe ya'll can help me with this question. In the picture below, the four leads in my fingers are the four leads for the front two speakers. I know that and need to use them to wire into the Low Level Converter.

I am betting that theother four leadsconnected to the Deutsch connector pigtailed off of the HKharness is the factory pre-terminations used to add the two additional rear speakers on other models of touring bikes. If anyone cantellme if that is correct, thatwould be extremely helpful, as Ineed to use those fourleads to complete the Low Level Converter wireing to run the amp.

Thanks!

MV: What you have in your hand is the Base Audio Connector; none of those wires is used for the rear speakers. Rear speakers are powered by the Ultra connector which is empty on your bike, assuming you haven't added the Ultra harness used when HD rear speakers are installed per the HD Parts and Accessory book. The Ultra connector plugs into the large socket on the back of your HK radio which is currently empty. On an Ultra, that large empty socket on your bike would have another large bundle of wires for the rear speakers, CB/Intercom/audio controls, etc. for the passenger.

For your application, rather than buy the HD harness, you can buy the connector, sockets for the ends of the four wires you need to insert into the connector to plug into the back of your HD radio, and fab your own harness.

Good luck with your installation, and good night.

Thanks harleypingman. I will check that out, along with the rear speaker flash for the system.

I guess I could temporarily bypass this step by splitting the four front speaker leads into eight, wireing up the LowLevel Converter forfour chanels using these leads, and running the amp off of just the front inputs split by left and right?

I have no idea of what the installation issues are that you are addressing aside from knowing how to wire rear speakers. You can PM Dawg or TwinCam47 for the AMP connector you need to plug into the back of your HK headunit and the sockets/terminals that go on the ends of the wires and are inserted into the AMP connector. The AMP connector is about 12 bucks and the sockets/terminals are about 50 cents ea.

The left rear speaker uses pins 3(-) and 10(+); and, the right rear speaker uses pins 3(-) and 11(+).

Good luck with your project.

P.S. I like to save money as much as the next guy but a SM is a pretty important piece of equipment to have handy when doing anything electrical on the bike.
