The only thing you need to be careful of with a cool motor is reving it.Give it plenty of time to warm up,the cooler the temp the more time it needs. The top end heads etc, warm quickly, the lower end, cylinders and crankcases take longer.

I never like to rev a cold engine. Let it run like the manual says 15-30 secs. or longer. Then take it easy for a few minutes.

As long as it takes to get ready. Although after seated on the bike, I hold the clutch in for about 30- 60 seconds and don't rev the engine to put it in 1st. Seems not to have that loud clunk if you do that. A HD guru told me that trick and it works.

I give it about a minute while I'm putting on gloves and stuff, but don't get on it hard until I have several miles on it.

well if you have synthetic oil you should be ok with a minute or so
regular oil needs more time to warm up

Like most everyone else's advise givenhere...I push it out of the shed (if at home), light'er up and let it run at idle whilst doning the appropriateriding paraphenalia then away-we-go.

I start mine in first gear with the clutch pulled in so I don't have to hear the loud clunk when I put it in first gear.. Then after I back down the driveway, I just ride on.. I usually ride easy for the first mile or two, that's about it. Maybe gets 30 seconds before I take off...
