Weplan on touring Wyoming & Montana a little this summer on our EGC. I'd like to pack a pump & tire plug for emergencies that might occur outside of cell phone range, just so I could limp to a dealer for a new tire. I prefer mechanical things over the latest & greatest, such as CO2 pumps, or mini-compressors. Any recommendations for a small, but effective bicycle pump? I'm talking about the type that you see mounted on the frame of a bicycle, not the standup type.
I guess if you don't mind jacking off a bicycle pump for an hour or two, it would work. Personally, I'll just keep on using my 5 buck mini compressor with the housing taken off.
This is what we use, light weight but super heavy duty, with a stainless steel cover.

Hope this helps. Tim
Some tire sealants (like slime) will not work well with punctures on the sidewall. Only on the tread. Also check to be sure it can be used with chrome or alum. wheels with tubeless tires. I have had good luck with Slime in dirt bikes & quads & bicycles with tubes.
