Default 2" Progressive Lowering... How much oil??

Anybody that's done the 2" Progressive lowering kit on the front forks, how many milliliters of oil did you add? I am assuming it will be less than service manual says due to extra hardware inside forks. I am 240lbs.

I thought the same thing when I lowered mine, but the instructions say to use the same amount as the stock springs. It doesn't make sense to me as it seems there'd be less room in there for oil. I did a 1" drop on mine and the bike seems to ride too stiff, but I also lowered the rear at the same time so I'm not sure if it's the front or rear or a combination of both.

Yah see that makes no sense, there is definately less room in there. If anybody has the kit uninstalled they should take the two extra little springs, the pvc spacer and the two washers and drop them in 200ml of oil and see how much that raises the level, that will give us the true answer. I wish I would have thought about that before I had the seals in. I am going to try 80ml less and see how that works, won't be able to test it for a few weeks until I get the motor back in.

Be sure and post when it's done and tested. I'd like to know what you think of the ride. I don't know if you used progressive's, but here's a link to their instructions.

You bet, and it is a progressive kit that I used. I am thinking now that I may add the extra 80ml, way easier to let some out of the drain screws than to take the counsle apart to add oil. But I am almost sure that the full 319ml that the service manual calls for will make it too stiff.

I think I'll give progressive a call tomorrow and get a little feedback from them. I'll let you know what they say.

Correct me of I am wrong but don't the directions tell you how much oil to put in? I am positive mine did.

My bad just went out and looked at my kit (Burly) and it said to refer to HD manual. So I looked in it and at the guaged container I used and 319 looks right. I used the medium weight oil myself.

Mine doesn't ride bad at all (but then again I am coming off a SLAMMMMED softail) so I like it a little on the roughside as opposed to soft and spongy.
