Default Thundermax map question

I am going to be installing my winter "goodies" soon and have a question regarding the map for the Thundermax. I am installing the Vance & Hines Ovals, Arlen Ness Big Sucker kit and of course the Thundermax. When I look at the available maps that come with it, I can't find the right combination. In fact the only listings for the V&H dresser slip ons either shows an "88" engine or a "103" neither of which I have. I have tried to update my map definitions from the internet but still no luck. If I only look at the "96" engine for an '07 Ultra, it doesn't even list the V&H slipons. And in either case itonly shows the 2.25" or 2.75" air cleaner. I figured the combination I had was of fairly common components but it seems not, or at leastas far as the base maps are concerned. Should I just load up the nearest map? The closest thing I can come up with is "HBTSSTVCTG010307.slk" which I have included a screen shot below of what the settings are. The problem I have is I don't think the Arlen Ness Big Sucker kit is 2.75" I thought it was closer to the stock 1-5/8",and I know I don't have an 88 engine. Do these matter? Or should I just load this one up and let the autotune take care of the rest. Thanks in advance for all of your inputs.

I think the Ness and S/E air filters are 2.25". You just have to pick the one that's closest and trust the autotune. If nothing else, e-mail them with your setup and they'll point you in the right direction.

Map #401 looks like your best match.

If you read the instructions they will tell what order to make your top three choices. If you have a 96" engine, start there. Look in the tuning section of your instructions and it will give you a step by step walk through. Once you've done it a few times you'll see how easy it is. Remember, you only need to be close.

Had simular question.everyone said get engine size right and everythin else as close as possible and the auto tune would take over. Can't tell you the result yet but if nothing goes wrong she'll have fire in the hole today.

I may be wrong, and if I am please shoot me.

I think the canned maps are what have been tested.

If you cannot find a canned map, then you have to select based on:

Throttle body/injector size
engine displacement bore and stroke
exhaust system design
in this order -- (this is on page 17 of my manual)

Once you have a base map loaded into your bike and initialized, it will begin tuning to the setting within that base map. Learning how much injector "on" time gives what AFR as measured in the ehaust gasses.

It will not tune to an optimal setting for your build, but for your base map. It will be close, but not perfect. To obtain optimal settings, you will need to make adjustments. These adjustments may not be necessary, but unless you find your build in the tested and proven base maps, you will only be "close." A dyno is still required to "get it perfect."

The nice thing is if you make changes other than the top three above, it will adjust back to keep you're AFR correct.

This is my understand. I could very well be wrong, but it seems logical to me. I love my T-Max.

Go with the 96 first and work your way over, sometimes you won't get an exact match, just get close and the autotune will take it from there...

My understanding is the same as Wichita Greg. Throttle body, Engine displacement, exhaust design (ture duals, crossover, 2 to 1, etc). I think all of the air filter choices are the same if I remember correctly. I just bought t-max and have read the manual but have not yet installed. They do not have my exhaust (V&H Big Shot Duals)but everything else - so I am supposed to pick map with Rhinehart true duals because its the same style.
