Allright you got me on the final drive, I should have said the primary...... Sorry......

If you look at all the threads about oil one thing stands out, ALOT of people use synthetic oil. I will say there is alot of interpertation on by each person on the differences. I will agree that one oil does not fill all holes. I truely beleive synthetics are the way to go. I've seen the proof, not in just motorcycles but autos too.....

Some diffrences are immediate, some will come out in miles. But the diffrences are there.

Some people just ride..... Thats ok. Take their bikes to the dealer for everything...... Thats ok too. But some dealers push Bull$hit products for things their not to be used for. Say they will void your warranty....ect. ect.

Each to their own. I am an Amsoil dealer and have tried to sell it at car shows but you cannot change a persons thinking in this. The proof on synthetics is there. I do not waste my time trying to sell Amsoil but I do use it in every vehicle in the house. If someone wants Amsiol, i'll get it for them but that's it.

These threads actually changed the mind of a guy at work. He wanted me to get an oil change for him to try Amsoil out.

Bottom line is use what your comfortable with and try to keep an open mind. There are other products that work better than HD stuff.

I did not mean to imply thatmosteveryone is not in tune with their bikes (it does read that way though) but that maybe some people just don't notice...... And ride it till it dies. Then stand there scratching their head.

No problemo.

They've convinced me on that too. I let HD put Syn3 into all 3 on my UC at the 1K svc, but reading stuff here, I recently dumped it and put Mobil1 Vtwin in the crankcase and Lucas gear oil in the xmsn. Still Syn3 in the primary, but I'll switch that too once I decide what to use there.

Okay all, took it out for a longer ride yesterday and here are the differences I noticed, granted none are dramatic differences.

1. Finding neutral is easier. The rest of shifting is about the same and still just as "cluncky" as always going into 1st from neutral.
2. Top end noise is slightly reduced.
3. Popping on decel increased (not severe by any means)- and is noticeble when shifting from 1st to 2nd when it was not before. (maybe something to do with the different spark plugs???)
4. My clutch lever started squeaking.

Could be all in my head/placebo effect as some have theorized, could be real, could be "other". Just simply my own subjective observations and I though I would share.

That's weird, I just did my 1k service and my clutch cable started squeaking too.
