I use Heat Demons. You pick the grip you want, these mount in the bars.
Working great so far and warm way down low in the temps.
I find myself using them even when its not that cold just because they feel good on my hands.
I always wear summer weight gloves. I hate thick padding on my hands.
Took less than an hour but I had done my grips before so was comfortable with that procedure.
Very well thought out instructions. They are available online for download.
I also have the stock bars without internal wiring so there was no competition for space in them.
Take off grips. Take off Clutch pertch. Drill hole in bars, insert grommet, Insert throttle side. Fish wires through with their tool.
connect wires up... put in clutch side. put back together... wire up at battery. I did a test first before closing up using test leads.
They seem like a very simple and solid product. I highly recommend.
This winter I put them on my RK, and love them. Got a set from ebay, HD branded (Willie G I think). Anyway, the install wasn't that bad. Take your time and you will love them when it gets cold. I can set the temp on mine or shut them off.
I put a set on my 08 UC a couple of weeks ago. Finally got the chance to ride this weekend. Sunday morning it was 27 degrees. My hands were nice and toasty with the grips set only on 2 or 3. They seem warmer than the ones I had on my '99. Love em' Ken
The HD heated grips have been very problematic on the CVO Ultras. While I love them, they have gone out once on me already and others have had more problems. I'll keep replacing them while under warranty. Once that is done, I'll switch to HeatDemons. Many have had very good sucess with these.
I installed the Heat Demons myself like Rhubarb did. Fished the wires down the existing loom from the left grip into the fairing and hooked them up inside the fairing. I was sold on the Heat Demons switch from the first time I saw it. Put ISO grips on over the Heat Demons.
