I had a set of 56512-08 installed on my '08 UC. Tried them out today (approx. 40 F) and they worked great.

Best thing since sliced bread. Where light gloves in 49 degree weather. The best. I'm told the older ones were short lived, but todays seem to work great and reliable.

I have the Flame heated grips on my '03 EGC...never a problem with them. The only thing I find I don't like about them is that you have to have your hands on the handlebars all the time, or you might as well not have heated grips. I frequently ride one-handed, so if I was contemplating a change now, I'd buy heated gloves instead.

I'm sure the grips are great but I use heated gloves ( and jacket ). Thegloves warm thewhole hand, not just your palms, and are a lot easier to take with you if you change bikes in the future. Also if you ever want to rest a hand off the grip, it's still stays warm.

I find in less then 40 degree weather I need to use my hippo hands if I'm going to ride longer then an hour or two,I never had heated gloves but that may be a better choice.

I have tried heated gloves. I too like them better than heated grips as they do heat the whole hand. Nice and toasty....

Had four different sets and they all crapped after prolonged use. IMHO the design is a POS. The pissantlittle rheostat used takes a crap after any prolonged amperage is put to it. Buy heated gloves and a vest. Have riding bros that have gotten twenty years out of those.I never got two months out of a set of HD heated grips.
