I liked mine just fine, definitely liked th elook better than regular bar-mount mirrors. But once I installed Sweeper bars, all I could see were my knuckles. Literally. I put on a set of the new Kuryakyn fairing-mounts and they work very well. Look really good, too - better than the catalog pictures would suggest.

If you put them on be very carefull tightening them down. When my brother put his on he even used a touque wrench and broke two stems. I used the torque wrench in my hand and didnt have a problem.
I was told that because the stems where plastic, mine where
metal..... Did HD make a change?
They must have changed them. Mine were plastic also.

I put them on my classic and loved them. Luckily,Iwas tipped-off about where to locate them before I mounted them. The trick is: DO NOT put them where HD says to. If you do, you'll mostly see knuckles. Move the template up 1/2", and out 1/2". Suprising what a difference this makes.

Make sure you use the right drill bit in the right spot, two different sizes.. Ask me how I know!![:@]
How do you know..??? [sm=icon_sneaky.gif] (did you ever get rid of that derby cover, radio box etc.?? I sent you emails..)

On-Topic.... I like mine on the 08 SG.. Have been experimenting with changing bars.. Going to have to do that before the arms fall off..{ BAD DESIGN HARLEY} If you install the ones your talking about, you will see your hands in the mirror.. Place them out and up as suggested. Also there is a set of mirrors that have a 2" blind spot circle that would work too. If you press me I can find them somewhere on the web here..!!

Does anyone have pictures of theirs from the seat view? That were installed up & out farther than the template?

Put a set on my Ultra. Was cursing the decision for the first two rides. Now...love 'em! Standard position and no problems with visibility. Had I looked into it, yeah I may have moved them up a bit. No biggie. No problems with vibration either. Actually think the stock mirrors were worse.
