I have a few questions for those of you who are using fairing mount mirrors.
How do you like 'em? Do you get a good range of vision? Do they shake/vibrate at speed? If you had a choice, would you get 'em again or go with handlebar mounted mirrors?
Any other comments regarding these mirrors would be appreciated.
Hey Orbit, I have a Street Glide and they come factory on it, Idont mind them... there are a lot of people that say they really dont have good vision with them, and that all they see is their arm or elbow in the mirror. I havent had this problem. I like them I think that they add to the look of your bike.. I guess it would be in your best interest if your thinking of adding them that you sit on a bike with them and see what you think. Also mine do not shake or viberate with the bike.. hope that help!
I test drove a 2008 copperhead ultra that the prior owner put those fairing mount mirrors on. The only problem is that he put them too low so all you could see was the street and nothing behind you!!! He really Screwed up the install and if he was to remove them there are holes in the inner fairing! The dealer said, yeah he traded it in with both sets of mirrors (originals too) I assume he realized his mistake and the only safe way to ride was to install the originals. Of course the dealer removed them because it looked stupid so my test drive was not the best experiance. Since I have not ridden with these mirrors installed properly I can't say if they are good or bad all I can say is please install them properly!!!
I like mine, IMO they help the looks of the bike. Mine vibrate along with the fairing at RPMs below say 1500-1800, but they are fine at highway speeds.
If you look, you will notice that they acutally are mounted farther out than handle bar mounted mirrors which is nice if your a big person.3 years and 30000 miles and I do it again.

After I changed the handle bars on my Street Glide to a wider, 2 up and 2 back bar, I had to take mine off and changed to Handle Bars mirrors. They did not vibrate though.
If I hadn't changed to wider bars, I would have left the Fairing Mount Mirrors on.
