I learned this one the scary way. I didn't go down, but it could have been an ugly scene. I was going about 5 mph and the rear end of my bike came around the instant I touched the brakes while crossing a wide painted stripe on the road. It didn't help that the road also has a downward grade at that location.
Watch out for exits to car washes,where soapy and/or waxy water often drips off cars. Even when the street is dry, it will be slipperery.
Watch out for change in road condition when crossing over from one county to another. Often the road will be a different shade of color, giving additional warning to a change in road surface.
