Got my Black Street Glide late last Dec.
I have for the most part enjoyed it.... however.
Rear brake continues to squeal... dealer used cleaner for a quick but short lived fix.
Idle seems pretty erratic... sometimes 1500 rpm sometimes 1100 occasionally around 1800...? ( warm or cold )
Last Harley was an 1981 FXWG, so I can see lots of progress... but at 20K, kind of expected a bit more.
I have owned Beemers, Suzukis and Yamahas... never had these sort of problems.
Should I just shut up and ride, or is thera a solution to my gripes.
Thanks,

It would help us all to help you if you gave us more info. Why don't you add a signature to your posts with your bike's configuration? Exhaust, AC, tuner, etc.
Sorry, put on V and H Oval slip ons, had the dealer do a down load and put on the SE intake/filter.
Before the changes, it idled around 1100, but ran too lean... now it seems just a little rich.
Thinking of a Power Commander ??
I am still stuck in the 70's-80's.. used to fiddle with the carb, kick start and turn the fuel petcock on/off.
The 08 Street Glide I road tested before my purchase had that same issue. It was equipped with a 103" stroker kit SEintake and Sert. After slowing from highway speeds the idle would hang around the 1800 mark for about 10 seconds. It also did it one other time when a made a kind of abrupt stop to get the feel of the brakes. Before I signed the papers on my stock 08 I road tested it to make sure it didnt have this issue. My bike is fine. Maybe the issue had something to do with the download or dyno tune.
I second doing a dyno. When I got my 07, I went to the SERT, you don't have to squeeze it in anywhere. Might check around for someone more capable on the dyno. Try some Lyndall pads for the brakes.
I have had my 08 SG for a few weeks and I had the same idle issue. Look on page 140 in your owners manual and follow the procedure to able and disable the engine idle temp. management system. When mine would start to idle high like yours I would cycle it on and off and it would go back to a normal idle. It happened to me on the day I picked it up and the service tech at the dealership showed me how to fix it. I have a couple hundred miles on it now and it has been fine. This may be what you are experiencing and it would be an easy fix if it is. Hope this helps you.
The brakes on my 08 RG squeaked after the first few hundred miles. At about 3K mikes I changed to Lyndall pads; no squeak at all the last 5K miles. Money well spent IMO.
