Old fart here. Don't think I have seen cagersusing hand signals for an eon, bikers only rarely. I suspect its knowledge lost. Electric signals, air conditioning, power windows, convenience, the cocoon, OK with the law, all contribute. Most bikers learn first in a car.
I got into the habbit of using them all the time. Even with my regular signals. It helps warn the ars holes behind meI am doing something. My big ol arm waving in the breese gets more attention than my turn signals and break lights.
