I'm considering getting a new set of wheel "s" but had a couple questions.
The fact that you really don't see much of the rear wheel, I'm thinking about leavingit on and getting a new 18" X 3.5 front only. Plus, IMO I don't care for the 18" on the rear because the ride height appears to change, I like the low look.
Let me know if you've gone this route and pic's would be great if you gotem.
I've heard guys having problems trying to replace the 21" tires when on a trip. Has anyone heard of any problems replacing an 18" tire? Apparently, the majority of HD dealers only carry OE tires.
When I finallly do wheels I was thinking about finding a used chrome Fat Boy wheel for the rear. No need to spend almost a grand on something that isn't seen.

I agree! It's notthat I don'tlike spending cash on my bike, but it's just what you said, you can't see enough of the wheel to spend the money.

When I did my 21x18 wheel combo I was going back and forth on spending the ca$h for the rear for the same reason as mentioned above. I went ahead and did it and am I ever glad I did. Youcan see enough of the rear that they NEED to match IMHO. Just my 2 cents
I agree with Framer. Don't know about you, but I would be looking at the rear all the time and be trying to justify that "it's not that noticable". It would drive me nuts. I would do it right the first time, and then every time you look at it " Damn it looks good" instead!!!!! Just my take....
You'd be surprised how often you see it, however little there is. It's funny also, everytime someone is looking at my bike or wheels in particular, they step back and look at the back wheels as well. I know if I looked back there and didn't see a match poking out from underneath it would drive me crazy. And if not the wheel...at least the tire tread should match.
