That has always been my biggest fear, either injuring or killing my passenger, or having a little kid run right out in front of you, on the bike or cage, doesn't matter. My prayers are with the family.

Hate to put it this way, but, "been there done that"
Lost my son at 6 yrs old March 26, 1989 (Easter Sunday)
He died from the injuries 2 years later. We knew it was coming
just not when.
and it doesn't really get any easier with time, because there is something
all year long to remind you. Christmas, new year, Easter, Birthday
Schools out, schools in, missed days riding, the list is endless.
Yes my prayers and condolences are with him and his family.
Hopefully this was one of the few real honest mistakes and that
she wasn't preoccupied with doing something else.
In a way I feel for the woman.
But this is one of those times we need tougher penalties for these types of accidents.
No it won't bring the boy back, but if people know the penalty, they may be a little
more cautious, and we may reduce the numbers in the future.
The penalties of a moment of carelessness is what needs taught in drivers ed.!
