I had the unfortunate task of investigating the death of a 12 year old boy yesterday. He woke up early with dad on the first day of spring break. Dad was taking him to work so they could have some father son time. They climbed on the bike just before 700. Off they went. about 2 miles from dads work an old lady in a cager pulls right in front of them. Dad says he saw it coming started to slow even before she pulled out. He locked up the brakes and just hoped to lesson the impact. His son didn't make it. He escaped with minor injuries. They were both wearing helmets. Keep this family in your thoughts.

 

Prayers being said, how horrible the dad must be feeling now. So sad.

I assure you that fear WILL almost kill one, trust me I know!

 

That is the worst part of being a LEO, doingfatality investigation when kids are involved. I can't even imagine how his father is feeling right now.

 

This is some hard news to hear.. I know how sick Dad must be over it.. such a shame and loss of life... I'm sure the lady is sick over it too and will have to live out the rest of her life with this on her mind..

 

I can't imagine the pain the family is in . Godspeed

 

Know what your feeling bro. Did 5 years in the Fatal Accident Investigations Unit, still do them. They never get easier. The family and you will be in my prayers.
