Default Need Advice

My last bike was a carbureted 99 FLHR that I bumped up to 95 ci, with a nice set of cams. Dyno revealed 85hp and 100tq. My new ride is a 2007 FLHR. The only changes so far are V&H ovals, SE air cleaner, and V&H Fuelpak. The bike runs great.....but I'm getting the urge to bump it up to 103ci. I talked with my HD service manager about the HQ 103 kit, but he wasn't very receptive. I have a year left on my warranty and he indicated that he could probably get around any warranty issues if I had a problem with HD parts. He said that he had no experience with HQ parts and really wouldn't be able to help if there was any kind of problem.

The HD service manager seems to think that my best bet would be the HD 103 kit with their SE 255 cams. The V&H Fuelpak has a program for that specific combination. This route would eliminate the need for a SERT or PCIII and any dyno time.

Is anyone else using this combination? Satisfied with the results? Will the standard heads be fine or will they need to be worked/replaced for best performance?

I would be satisfied getting 90-95% of the potential gain...not looking to squeak out every unit of hp/tq. I'm looking for very strong tq, reasonable hp, maximum reliability, no overheating, starting or detonation issues.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Andy

Build what YOU want not what the dealer talks you into. If your concerned about a warranty than wait.
