Road King Classic Tachometer
So anyway, the problem at hand is... the speedo on a king is totally unusable IMHO. I have to completely take my eyes off the road and what is going on to look down to see how fast I am going when I get to the small towns on the back roads of our great land. When I have a helmet on, it is MUCH WORSE.
So to fix the problem, I have been thinking about getting the tachometer to put up on the handlebars.
What do you guys think? And how hard is it to install? Does it look right on a king classic? Or is there a better solution?
I am taking the bike apart again, so now might be a great time to do it if I actually plan to.
Does anyone else think this way and what did you do to solve it?
Thanks in advance.
that I really shouldn't drink this much caffein and sugar this early in the morning. [8D]It winds me up too much and then I fade away before lunch
)But, what if I did the whole, GPS thing... I think the setup and install would cost about the same. I would get speed displayed up where I could read it. I think most GPS systems give a ton of performance data... AND as an addedbonus, I might actuallydiscover where the heck I'm heading, besides off into the sunset?
Do they sell a center handlebar mount or does it HAVE to go to one side or the other?
Whadda ya think?
I thought about getting an add-on tach for mine a while back, and started paying attention to various bikes that had them installed. I didn't see a single RK that looked right with the extra device installed on the bars. Just my own taste, I guess, but the RK needs a clean and mean handlebar area. It's one of the reasons I went with that model as opposed to a bike with a fairing. After having grown up building hot-rods, the thought of not having a tach bothered me for a while, but I got over it and just trust my ears.
just an option as opposed to hanging something else on your handlebars
can't think of the part number but they are in the harley catalogue
Your issue is with the speedo....how's a tach gonna help? I really don't think you'll find it much easier to see than the speedo on the dash.
