Whatever the case, the end justifies the means. After being strong armed into pulling the cover and checking my cam tensioners by dawg, I was left without having a replacement gasket to reassemble. Now Harpoon offered to pick one up for me which also gave him an excuse to stop by to check on my progress and to gather some info on a clutch cable and front brake line repacement, seeing as I was now an expert at taking off the exhaust (3 times in 3 months) and replacing the clutch cable (twice in 3 months) and to check out my boat too. It's a small dub tub, good for 1 guy and a couple of kids. I think he is planning on towing it with his Road King Classic.[:-]
Anyway I also posted earlier that since it was dawgs idea for me to check my tensioners, that he should send me a gasket to wrap things up. Well wouldn't you know, a package arrives in the mail and it's a gasket from dawg. It may have been a guilt gift or a substitute for a cigar (given a choice I would take the gasket) to celebrate the arrival of his first granddaughter. Way to go dawg. Congratulations.[sm=happybounce.gif]
Well now that I have the cover off I think I will install the oil temp guage sensor in the oil line that the MoCo recommends in the kit. Access to the lines is more accessable with the cover removed (although they don't tell you that in the instructions which is why most of us put it in the oil pan.)
Well I just wanna say thanks now to Harpoon and dawg for feeling sorry for me and getting me the part I needed. I know I have 2 and only need one, but I may be back inside again next winter... you just never know.
