Time to buy some rain gear no more getting wet...( except in the right places )...lol........what are your opinions in the reain gear....i was thinking about road toad made by frog toggs,,,,or is thier something better for the money...
I have a tourmaster brand rain suit and really like it. It is pants with suspenders, and loops that go around the bottom of your bootsand a nice jacket. I also have some tourmaster boot covers, but they suck (the bottom wore out the first full day of riding in rain). My tourmaster suit kept me dry in a 4 hour drive in some of the heaviest rain I have ever seen. The down side is that i spent about $140 on it. I have looked at the HD suits and it seems that they are probably comparable in quaility.
My wife has Frog Toggs. She doesn't get out as much in the rain so she is happy with them so far. I have heard complaints that with frog toggs your butt will get wet from sitting on water after a period of time. The plus side is that the frog toggs are more than half as compact when not wearing them and are easier to pack.
No matter what kind of rain gear you get your still gonna get a little wet. I bought a cheap set in Daytona in 04 and there still in good shape, I think I paid 60 bucks for them.
I have the Harley Over Pass, top and bottom and it has served me well in some pretty extreme rain. I think it cost about $150. Not cheap but it has kept me dry and it is made for motorcycling, it does not flap in the wind and beat you up.
I have a ONE PIECE Harley rain suit. I stay 100% dry. Along with my Gerbing's, Nolan N102, and rain gaiters, I'm 100% warm and dry. . . and I live in Washington State better known as the "Rain State."
X2 on the H-D Overpass...........a little pricy but when it comes down to it, well worth every penny. I've noticed HD motorclothes products really are geared and built to well suit the rider for any conditions and the Overpass works just as intended, VERY comfortable, no flapping and looks good doin it.
well after looking at some rain gear..i see some diffrences......it would appear to me that pants with suspenders would be better than just elastic waist,,,or is that wrong....i think i may go with toumaster pants..beacause they have boot straps & suspenders for the eaist & go with the gortex harley jacket...what do you all think?
Frogg Toggs makes a motorcycle suit called the Road Toad. Never seen one but must be different than the standard suit. They are affordable. Google frogg toggs and check them out.
I bought a $39 or $49 rainsuit off some MC website, (maybe it was 39 for the wife's and 49 for my XL) It is made just like the $100+ rainsuit HD sells as far ashow the seams are sealed. Have used it two years and it is still as good as new. It don't say "harley" on itanywhereso it is probably not as good. You can pay Harley prices if you want to, but it is not necessary.
