Default Continental Tires

I own a 05 Ultra and am going to have to get a front tire pretty soon, the rear has approximately 6000 miles on it. So am considering changing both at the same time. Maybe I been in the PVC glue to long today, but I can't figure out the size conversion. My tires are MT90E16 Front and MU85E16 Rear..I find some info but not enough to make me comfortable ordering a set of the internet..Question: What size Continental's fit an Ultra and what kind of mileage did you get out of them? Dunlop's just don't work for me....

I run my new R Glide with Avon Venom tires. The spec is MT90B16 74H (front) and 15080B16 77H rear. I would recommend looking into Avon. They are a much better tire (full radial, soft grip tread, moderate mileage, big bike touring) than Dunlop. Michelin is another good tire company for bikes, and HD now offers them in the parts catalog. Avon's are also available thru your dealer, if they order from Drag Specialties or one of the other after market houses. Contis are a good tire, but not as many options available unless you ride a euro sport bike.

I went to Continentenals last swap and like them a lot, handle better [and cheaper]. Don't know about miles yet.

The last two sets on my Ultra have been Avons. I'm thinking about the Dunlop Elite III next. Nothing bad about Avon, but after OEM, Metzlers, and now AvonI just want to try something different.

I have a new set of Continental Milestones on my 89 Ultra. I've only got about 350 miles on them, but they certainly feel and handle better than the Dunlops I had on there previously. Obviously I don't have any idea about longevity yet, but to me that is secondary to performance anyway. I'd rather have a great handling tire that lasts 8,000 miles than a mediocre handling one that lasts 10,000.

Mine are 130/90 16 front and rear; Milestone CM1 frontand CM2 rear. From Continental's website: for an 05 Ultra, your front would be the same 130/90 16 Milestone CM1; your rear would be the 140/90 16Milestone CM2. I'll admit, I didn't buy mine online -- I got them through the shop that mounted them for me, so any size issues would be their problem and not mine.

Performance wise, I ll take the Avons anytime. But, they are a softer compound and will not get the mileage. The handling more than offsets the lesser wear, in my book.
