Congrats on the Standard. Just be prepared, the trip only starts here. Look at my link to Photo Bucket and you will see there is not an end to the maddness! The photos only give a small glimps into what really happens.
P.S....So wish I had not gotten rid of my Sporty, she was so fun to ride!
I've had a few Standards and believe that they are the unsung hero of the touring family. I view mine as a tool bike. It's now my mileage maker, road trip, biker event, bar hopping bike for everything that I need or want a Harley to do. That's because I turn fifty very shortly. Truth be told, I've had Standards before either alone or in conjunction with another Harley. Now, at my ripe old age, it is my only Harley because it does so many things so well.
It's because the FLH Standardis so darned good that I am parting with my beloved Street Bob and replacing it with a BMW R1200GS. It's all good - congrats on your new ride!
The standard is gonna grow on you real badd.
I rode with a dude that has a 1200cc Sporty. I leaned about as far on the curves as he leaned. He didn't go any faster on top end than I did.
Waitin on TM to come out with a new Tuner and I'm stickin it on my Standard. Along with a A/N Big Sucker stage II to go with my Supertrapp pipes. That will make a big difference.
They are one sweet bike for the money.
I kept my Sportster when I got my Standard, trade in was to hard to take. I might sell it if someone wants it bad enough.I gotthe radio, you might change your mind, nothing like it.
Congrats.
Congrats on the new ride. I just took delivery of my new EGS and am lovin it. I installed a Biketronics audio system for 1/2 the cost of the HD system. Tunes on a ride offer another riding experience.
Congratulations on the new bike Scoteh but you'll be viewed as a traitor over on the sportster forum. Them boys get mighty defensive about their beloved sportsters. I had an iron head some time ago and I really liked it. We have an 883L now for my wife to ride and I get a kick out of it too. I love sportsters, but they can't compare to the touring bikes in comfort or very slow speed agility. Now that'll really **** some of them boys off.
