The FLHT is one of the best kept secrets of Harley value in the entire model line.
Great bike very flexible , and easy to customize.
I love the glove box pouch and use it all the time.
Just add oil pressure and oil temp gauges for a nearly perfect dash...
You'll love it more as the miles start to add up.
Enjoy

Congrats on the new ride. I just took delivery of my new EGS and am lovin it. I installed a Biketronics audio system for 1/2 the cost of the HD system. Tunes on a ride offer another riding experience.
Im enjoying my EGS too! I started out wanting 'simplicity'. Not alot of chrome....love thesilver engine.....just wanted to make it my own.
As of now, Ive done the cruise control, fairing deflectors, detachable 2-up rack and backrest, saddlebag guards, chrome switch covers and levers, chrome engine kit, extended exhaust shield,SE A/F, SE slip-ons, and the remap. I added the oil pressure and temperature gauges....dash looks good! I nowhave the King Tour Pak with lights and detachable rackordered from Chicago HD. This past Friday Iput a Mustang Ultra Touring seat (the 'best' money I've spent yet)...will order the adjustable HD backrest shortly. I also put the chrome fork wind deflectors on.....not sure Im gonna keep them on though.
Sure, I could have saved money by getting the Classic.....just didnt like the black motor....and I didnt have a steady girlfriend then..lol.
It's AMAZING just how easy it is....to enjoy something!
I loved the over/under on the sound system. Kinda strange that I don't see myself getting sound on the bike for quite a while since I have a couple of thousand cd's. I've got an Ipod with a 1400 tune jam(60's and 70'sR&R mostly)that I put together and figured that if I was going to do music that would do the trick. Am I nuts? Really, though, the older I get, the less I jam. Sometimes I ponder the expansiveness of the universe, but most of the time I enjoy the sound of the bike, whatever there is to see,the smell of the road kill, and thetotal absence of any rational thought.
Congrats! I picked up my '05 Standard alomst 2 yrs. ago and I've been lovin' it ever since. Sometimes I wish I'd have gotten a Classic. I've been pouring the ju ju into it making it mine, but the making it mine part HAS been fun. It's a blank slate waiting for our touch. Enjoy!

I just traded up from a Sporty to a EG Standard. The Sporty was fun and fast, but the EG is just plain fabulous. So, if you happen to be riding anywhere in eastern MO, especially south of St. Louis, and you see some fool riding a black EG with a big ol' grin on his face, it's probably me. Oh yeah, radios, we don't need no stinkin' radios. That's what loud pipes are for!!
