THROTTLE PROBLEMS 08 SG
JUST CAME BACK FROMA 25 MILE RIDE. TBW ACTED UP AGAIN. SLOWING DOWN IN 1ST GEARTHE RPM'S WENT UP TO OVER 1500 AND STAYED THERE HAD TO CLUTCH IT,THEN THEY CAME DOWN. RODE A LITTLE MORE AND IN 4TH GEAR RPMS WENT UP TOOK MY HAND OFF THROTTLE AND THEY STAYED UP.
ANY HELP ON THIS PROBLEM ?

Got 8500 miles on my 08 and no problems.
Was the bike cold and needed warmin up ?
Have you tried to take it to the dealer and use the 2 yr warranty that come with the bike?

THE BIKE WAS WARMED UP. WORKED FINEFORTHE FIRST 1500 MILES. THEN WENT INTO FORCED IDLE MODE AT 65 MPH IN PASSING LANE ON RT. 95 SOUTH IN S.C. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, NO CODES? THEY SAY HARLEY WON'T DO ANYTHING TILL IT DOES IT TWICE. 4500 MILES ON BIKE NOW. SEAMS TO BE GETTINGWORSE.

This is a repost for Thorn about his brother HAMMER. If you have an 08 HD
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get it checked out.
My Brother HAMMER was killed today in a bike accident -- he was the Pres
and patch Holder for Boozefighter Capter 39 in Granbury T he is also the
Owner of Jackhammer Tatoo. his wife Sindi is in serious condition.
Seems that the new electronic throttle on the 08 HD's has a problem they
accelerate on thier own and you can shut them down. he had just got his bike
back from HD for this problem and they told him it was fixed. this time he
was in a curve and couldn't pull out of it , rtan off the road and threw
Sindi of ,then the bike flipped over on him and broke his neck .
please if you have one of these bikes or you know someone that does , get
it checked.

Justa simple comment... do you think that reseting the throttle by wire would help? Maybe Harley Davidson is using Microsoft... Those of us in the computer industry know and just expect that anytime issues arrise, we reboot and reset.
I was having the slow response on my throttle by wire 2008... I mentioned it for my 1,000 mile checkup, they reset my throttle by wire and it seems to have fixed the issue. It is now very responsive.
