My 07 Street Glide faring vibrates at 18 t0 2200 rpm's, then it will smooth out with higher r's. I just bugs me, the faring screws are tight, I know the new style motor mount makes more shake, maybe some one has fixed theirs. Help would be good.
Thanks Donnie
I have an 06 FLHTi and mine also vibrates from startup till the rubber mounts on the engine start to kick in. I would definately keep an eye on the smaller braces that are attached to your speakers since this is one problem area that has plagued many owners. They seem prone to cracking and are not that hard to replace, I've already had to replace my left side and just recently the large main brace under warranty. It's not the best construction in my book and could use some reinforcing which some members have already done. I normally check these braces once or twice a month since I have 2 different sized shields from Cee Bailey which I tend to switch depending on the temps at night since I work second shift for GE. Hopefully in the near future the MOCO starts to figure a better system since it seems the 06 bikes were prone to breakage and I've heard of even newer 08's cracking already. Hope this helps.
Do a search on this topic, there is plenty of threads on this subject. Mine vibrates also and it bothers me, I took it all apart and all the brackets were in perfect shape, I replaced the engine mount still the vibration is there on mine is between 30 -45 mph..
Iworked in the car stereo installation industry for nearly 15 years. We uasd to have the vibration problem in door panels and such where we would mount speakers.
If we had that problem, we would install a dampening material called Dynamat. It would nearly eliminate the vibrations that were not there before. It is a similar material that the manufactuers use in the high end vehicles to eliminate noise & vibration.
I wonder if this product installed on the inside of the faring might not do the trick?

Interesting theory. The fairing seems to "rock" back and forth on it's mounting brackets. In the app you describe above the door panels would seem to be a larger surface with the vibrations coming from a larger area at a lower frequency.
If you do get your SG or any fairinged bike and try this please post your results. You may have a budding enterprise on your hands if it does work and you decided to sell kits of this type.
Thanks for sharing. If anybody else tries it please post the results as well.
+1 mine be broke right now..just trying to find time to pull it apart and get the warranty replacement...Welcome to the Bagger Nation..home of the broken fairing brackets.
+2 Both of mine have broke (1) on each side. Fixed mine myself rather than have warranty replace w/ same cheap old pot metal barckets that HD amke. I fixed mine something similar to fix on this forum. Search Broke Fairing Brackets & you should find repair w/ pix.
