My wife had a 06 SG. One day she said " my bike is vibrating" I thought the typical male thought"yeah right" About a week later I took it to the gas station. Whoa, this thing is really vibrating. Well, the first thing I thought was inner fairing bolts. Nope, all tight. We were at the dealer the next day and I mentioned it to the service manager. He starts it up and revs it a few times and says, "thats normal." Well The Vixon says,"it didn't do that for the first 10000 why is it doing it now. He goes in and gets a higher up and he comes out and revs it up and says, "yup thats the way they are when they get broke in. We leave and the more I think about it, the more I am thinking, that's B.S. I call them back and say, "I want the front motor mount replaced under warranty." I bring it in they change the mount, and the vibration is GONE. The Vixon put 23,500 on it and it never came back. She now has an 08 SGwith 0 miles on it cause it won't warm up in WI.
Had both vertical braces break, welded them back up good to go, just recently I've gotten a little
more vibs. so I'm going in this w-end to see what's up?? Might do the garage opener thing while
I'm in there. Anybody got the #'s for the dash button and boot ?? I beleave it looks like the trip/reset button ??
Thanks Steve
The bike shakes and transmits that shake thru' the parts at the extremities. There's really nothing to be done about the shake, other than bolting in a "B" engine.
What irks me on mine is that ever since the dealer put it back together the fairing now SQUEAKS as it shakes, which never happened before. (sigh) I have to pull it apart and see what's loose, misaligned, etc.
