I think you are buying one more year of coverage. To get it to five years you are looking at $1,000. That price doesn't include the optional tire and wheel coverage. Check the link below.
I forgot this also. I did buy an extended warranty on the Low-Rider I had. I looked at the paperwork and it said 4 years/unlimited mileage. It was 4 years from the date I bought the bike (new). Two year warranty was what it came with, I bought and "extra" 2 for a total of 4.

Lots of guys pay over 1 grand for the extra warrenety, then spend another grand to void it with pipes, engine build etc...
This is one of the biggest myths around. "As soon as you change your exhaust it voids your warranty." This is Nonsense!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not sure where some of you people come up with this $hit but your dumb. The dealer has to prove that because of the aftermarket part or modification it caused a normally warrantied part to fail. So Ifsomeone goes into to the dealer and tells them that hisCD player is brokenthey cannot tell him"Sorry but you modifiedyour motor so your bike is not under warranty." They have to prove that the new motor is the reason the CD player doesn't work. Same with an exhaust, if your motor blows because the oil pump failed it has nothingto do with your rineharts, vance and hines, SE's or whatever. Now if you and your cousin decide to put after market cams in your motor and the cam fails and f's your motor up that's your problem. But don't say as soon as you put some pipes on its gone.

pop1, that is almost word for word what my dealer told me when i asked and i think he is right.
Extended warranties aren't worth the paper they are written. They only sell them to make more money on the bike, car TV or what ever, they know there is only a very small chance anyone will need them and half the time whats covered under warranty cost them less than you payed for it.
Save your money and put it in something that will make you some interset!

The SERT alone voids your factory warranty. This came from my dealer, they stated if you stay with the "street legal " pipes etc, you are ok. Anything that makes it not street legal, including aftermarket pipes, SERT and so forth voids your warranty in the eyes of the MOCO. They stated most dealers will stand by you if they did the work cause they did it, but other dealers can say no if they want. I'm aware of the "moss Act" (I think thats right) which states something like you said. Maybe they were saying you ain't even supposed to be riding on public streets, but thats how they explained it to me. Those are RACING parts, and as such are not covered under the warranty that came with your STOCK, street legal bike.

When my friend purchased his 05 Deuce the dealer told him he was wasting his money on the 5 year extended, but he got it anyway.

error codes, fuel injections, maps, cd players, throttle by wire, IDSsystems I don't think that anyone who bought the extended warranty is wasting their money. My 05 RKC had "the bad valve problem" along with a bad computer that was constantly spitting various codes. I did not buy the extended warranty however I was still covered by the factory warranty. Both repairs would have cost far more than the cost of the warranty. From now on I buy the extended warranty. If you don't ride the bike than the warranty is a waste of money. By the time my extended warranty runs out the bike my bike will have about 100k on it so maybe I can get a new motor out of the deal.
