I have the Rivco center stand and all I can say is "I love it"
It puts the rear wheel off the ground about 3/4 of a inch.
It installs in about 5 minutes.
I had the bike a year before I got the center stand, I wish I had got it way sooner.
I wrote to them lastnite. Told them that it should be offered in black powder coat to be just 1 less thing to keep polished.
But I think if you like it I may have to just get one!

The ground clearance is not affected in any way.
The center stand bolts to the hour glass shaped cross member.
There is a long and a short version.
They list for $300 smacks, I got mine for $250 or 260, can't remember.
What is the advantage to the center stand? I had one on an old bike of mine, but rarely used it, and as I recall, I had work my *** off to get it up on the stand. I was thinking that it might be the answer for draining oil, but my dealer told me that it should be drained on the kick stand...
So, what gives? Is it a preference thing or is there some utility reason I'm missing?
I had a rivco center stand on a 98 Valkyrie and it was well done. Center stands for me are to do pre-ride checks, maintenence, cleaning and storage. I found that Rivco made this in such a way that the leverage made it easier to use. It was as easy, if not easier to use than the stock goldwing CS. I had a lot of Rivco stuff on that bike and they (rivco folks) seemed to do it right and were concerned with the customer. This was a few years ago, however. I think it is a family operation in Wisconsin and that sort of business tends to stay pretty consistant in my experience.
