So, I just bought an inner fairing on ebay and am going to paint and install it on my bike. Question is, I love having a windshield bag to store my crap in but I'm wondering with vibrations, will the bag wear through the paint where it hits on the fairing? Any experience with this out there? Thanks!

 

If you're worried about it, send a PM to forum member "profinish" and he can probably make up some of that 3M protection film for that area for ya. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to do.

 

i got the same problem but decided the pouch was just as important with function. so get the softest little rubbers nipple like things and put four on each corner.It will eventually wear through, even a soft fabric will wear through, at one time or anotherwe have to stop being so freakin **** with the bike and ride to sonbitch, at least for me anyway.......put the rubber nipples on it and forget about it. hey at least you dont have that leather dash board to contend with, i had to rebuild the metal base to make the damn thing fit.Be well

 

If your really worried put a piece of leather under your pouch and you wont have to worry anymore

 

Go to Lowes and buy you some stick on felt circles like you put under furniture legs and attach a couple of those to the back of the bag.
