I'm a daily rider and about to do my 10K service today on my 07 RKC... it's given me nothing but huge fun and utter reliability (which is more than I can say for my wife's metric). I know several guys with 2007 Tour and Softail series bikes, and none of them has had issues...all are very happy.
The first thing you should learn about this forum, and most others that deal with gear of any type: the negative people are just more vocal. They sit home bitching through the PC while the happy owners are riding. Don't allow the amount of complaints you read to sway you. Pay attention, but don't allow yourself to imagine problems that don't exist on your bike...and it's easy to do.
06, 07, 08... find one that makes you say "wow" look at that! then buy it. You take the risk with any model, and any year of having an issue. Ride til you do, then have it fixed, and ride some more, and like most, you probably won't have any issues at all!
