Default thundermax auto tune

What are your impressions of the thundermax. I have an 07 RK with V&H big shot duals and the V&H fuel pack. I'm not real impressed with the fuel pac and was recomended to install this instead of the fuel pac or the SERT.

Is is a true plug and go system. I dont want something that I have to down load or create a map for.

I have one. You will have to download a map, but the Thundermax does some adjusting of it's own after you've installed and set it up. My bike runs great with it, but it took a while before things settled into a nice groove with it. It's a lot easier to install and get working right than the instructions would have you believe. I had the PCIII before, and feel the Tmax gives me equal or better performance without having to fuss around with it as much. The only downside I'm having is that my gas milage took a pretty good dip, but that's the price we pay for having a better performing and cooler running machine. I'll probably do some tweaking before I take my summer trip to see if I can't get a few more miles out of her. Check with Bart, shooter64. He'll get one to you for a good price.

I chose the DTT over the Tmax as i like to be able to play with the map a bit and I really like the performace difference over the PCIII. I would say that for most people the tmax or the DTT are verygood systems and I would recommend either over any of the plug and play piggyback stuff. These allow you to never have to take you bike to a dyno again to get it tuned, the bike does it itself. Now saying that I do plan on putting a SERT on the V-rod, over any of the other plug and plays

I have to agree with harleykris, I have a t-max and it was the best investment I ever made. Only adjustment I did was bring the idle down a bit. Bart shooter 64 has the best price plus very helpful.

That's where I am now. The bike runs nice and cool, but as soon as I started leaning it out for better mpgs, it got hotter. So I am leaving it fat at the lower rpms so it stays cooler in traffic and sitting at idle, but leaning it out at the upper ranges to get better freeway mpgs. Now at idle and slow speed the afr is 13.2, and at freeway speeds it's at 13.5.

All I ever had was carb bikes until I got the '07 Street Glide.
I was intimidated by the thought of dicking around with EFI because of the unknown, and then I was shocked at how easy the Thundermax installation went.

I downloaded the map from Zipper's extensive library, went through the initialization process and then giggled like a little girl when the bike fired up the first time I hit the starter button. It has been running like a scalded dog ever since.

I still wouldn't call myself an expert on EFI or ECM but it would seem that Thundermax is all I need to know. Highly recommended!

I'm considering buying a Dyna for my son's 18th birthday. If I do, the Thundermax will be the first thing I buy for it.
