Had to drop something off to a former co-worker one time. He lived in a small trailer park. As I was riding through looking for his place I noticed alot of people looking at me strangely and giving me dirty looks. OK what the hell did I do. Well on my way out I noticed a sign saying no motorcycles allowed. No wonder they were looking at me like I was a leper. First time I had ever seen anything like that. I could see in a nice community. But in a trailer park????
Boycot the community that pays part of your bills? Sounds like a rock and a hard spot. I once had an older lady (70ish) come up to me in Daytona on a scooter and tell me her son told her to find someone on a Glodwing and camp by them in the campground. I thought this was funny, till I asked if her son rode. "Why yes he does" He rides a Harley Fat boy!!! This retard had just told his own mother to discriminate against harley riders!!! Funny Sad and Ironic a the same time I was unloading 2 gallons of Rum from the Trunk of my wing.
my mom lives in a condo and i was staying with her a couple nites. one nite i got there about 10:30, the next morn 3 different neighbors called her and complained. thenthey wanted the condo associationto sell her condo out from under becausei was staying there. they couldnt do that because i was her son, but they could have if i wasnt. they president of the association told her i had to be there before 9:30 and couldnt leave in morn before 7:00.THATS BULLSHIT if you ask me.
This is nothing new. Everyone seems to want the image but not the hassles. The real problem is everyone and his brother rides a motorcycle nowdays and want to portray an image that just isn't so, and then get pissed when they are called on it. Take the bad with the good and don't worry about it.
All it takes is a majority of votes, now bikes get banned. Mostly due to excessive exhaust sound, the manufacturers tried many decades ago to prevent it, but too many attitudes ruined it for the rest. Try to get an anti-discrimination against motorcyclists bill introduced in your state legislature.
