Kinda makes you wonder what his reaction would have been if you had sat in his cage "just to check it out". Kids are curious, and that is understandable, idiot parents are not.
Kids run the household today!
I would have gotten my butt whooped for that!
We would go to the grocery store and us kids would have to keep one hand on the cart at all times. No wandering around whatsoever!
Kids are attracted to scoots, they can't help if their father is a dick.
Lucky they didn't get burned. You should've had the father grab the pipe to show him what could've happen to the kid. Then he'd also have a scarring reminder for reference in the future in case he had troubling remembering this lesson next time.
If one of those kids got hurt, that "father" would have been immediately on his cell phone calling his attorney to sue you for YOUR negligence and the store for allowing motorcycle parking. Don't you know you're not supposed to park a motorcycle anywhere kids may have access to it and hurt themselves?
I would have had no problem giving that guy a few "parenting" lessons right there in the parking lot. Some people just don't get it. Unfortunately, they are raising the next generation of morons. God help us if we ever have to call on those kids to defend our freedom.
I always thought it was my responsibility to teach right or wrong to the kids.
I know that it would never be one of mine climbing on some strangers bike (or car or any damn thing)
The father missed his chance to do the right thing so you had to do it for him. No sleep loss.............
Most people don't even know how hot the pipes get. Factory paint scratches so easily too. I warned my kids not to play on it when I got mine. I woulda said something to their dad too!
Evidently, the OP doesn't have kids or has forgotten what they are like. The minute it appeared that the 2 year old wasn't being supervised was when I'd be getting back to my bike in a hurryto be sure the little one didn't burn himself--yeah, it'd annoy me if the little kid brokesomething on the bike (unlikely) or scratched the paint (also unlikely)--but I'd feel much worse if the kid burned himself on the exhaust which would be very, very easy.
We all live and learn--often by our mistakes and those of others.
Glad no one got hurt and your bike wasn't damaged.
