I was adjusting my belt this afternoon and noticed something strange with the backside of the IDS hub that I installed. I don't have a picture but the best I can describe is on the backside of the hub (part that has the rubber inserts) I can feel some ripples. I can actually see them as that is what brought my attention to it. If I run my hand around it I can feel that about 3/4 of it is smooth then I feel these "ripples". I don't recall if they were there when I installed it and its been on the bike for about 400~500 miles.
Anybody else notice this or do I potentially have a big problem?
I may see if I can get a camera in there for a visual.(
Installed IDS on my 07 SG a couple months ago. I only have a few hundred miles on the IDS but it is fine, no ripples here. Sounds like you have a problem some where. Keep us informed.
Here is a picture. I have circled the areas of concern in red......when I run my hand across these areas I can feel the area. It almost looks like cracks are developing.
It's probably nothing, but yeah....I'd take that in to be sure.
Might just be casting marks. Might be something more....
I sure someone around here will know.
