flh standard speaker install
just put a stereo in with hog tune speakers. there was a spacer in the fairing keeping the cloth speaker cover in place . this spacer was close to being 1/2" thick. well,,,,i took it out. does this spacer belong between the speakers and the fairing? i tried to re-install it but the hole in the spacer and the speaker didnt match up with each other

when i put the hogtunes in my fairing it had the speaker/cloth blanks in the fairing already,i had to buy the speaker adapters that were angled slightly, mine wouldnt fit with the flat spacer/speaker cloth either. my bike didnt come with anything for radio or speakers

You won't use that spacer that was on the bike. You will use the angled spacers that came with the kit. I had the same question and had to call biketronics about it. You will use the long screws that came with the kit as well as some of the short screws that were on the flat spacers.

I installed HD speakers on my EGS this weekend and I used the spacers but modified them. I got out my dremel and routed out the the junk. I thought it was necessary for proper cone travel.
