I'm merely performing due diligences before making another purchase and trying to use this forum for information as intended.... I can't find ant specs on Assembly, materials, etc.
Here's a chance to redeem yourself. What is the $300 dollar difference in value between the J&S lift and the Sears red lift? Could it be the "bowling ball" like material used in the wheels of the J&S vs. the cheep steel wheels on the Sears? Or is it all of the extra iron used in the 5" additional width and 3.25" additional length of the of the J&S platform? Is it all of the above plus something else?
This should be an easy one for you.

this week harbor freight has a sale on the yellow jack $59. I love mine and its similar to the yellow jack from sears. Save your self the money on those expensive jacks and buy a nice rolling stool or something. tie downs and that jack and it doesnt get much sturdier, my bike has been up on the jack for over a week now because I took the front end off ( getting powdercoating done) ive not had any issues. Save your money and go to harbor freight, unless your trying to out jones the joneses.
1. Those with enough common sense to buy a J&S or Pitbull jack.
2. And then there are all the others . . . (see above).
I would like someone to tell me why the more expensive jacks are better.
1) I heard you can't replace the bottle jack but I doubt that that's correct. You may not get one from Sears but the bottle jack isn't made exclusively for this Sears jack. It looks pretty common and I'll bet they're out there. WRONG..NO REPLACEMENT ACVAILABLE. I tried.
2) The arms are longer on the J&S although I don't believe it makes any difference if the arm extends two inches or six inches past the frame. That doesn't affect it's function though it may make it easier because you don't have to be as accurate shoving it under the bike.

I have one question for you guys that go out and spend big bucks on a jack for your bike. Did you do the same for your car or your truck? I know my car came with probably a $20.00 scissor jack, if that. I have never considered changing it.
If I am out and need the vehicle lifted...a tow truck does it.

Okay let me try one more time: Will the J&S Jack take a smaller bike or is it pretty much designed for a Harley frame?
does anyone know will the j&s jack lift a electra glide thats been lowered 2 inches?
