There's a maxi fuse behind the left side cover (its in a rectangular plastic case) remove the fuse....wait a minute or so and put it back in start the bike. My SG would do that occasionaly after I changed ignitions.
one you really need both manuals.
did you cut and splice wires to hook it up? If so undo it.
did you have to buy a harness to connect it up?
If so either it is wrong harness or may have a wrong pin configuration.
Here a wiring schematic would be helpful to you to verify all wires are in right location.
My cruise I bought for my 01 was wired wrong had to remove and re-insert the pins in
the right location.
Also try reading radio error codes if you can.
page 6-1 of electrical diagnosis manual explains how.
page 2-48 describes bus er
If serial data is shorted, these DTC's willautomatically cause check engine lamp
to illuminate. the odometer will read "bus er" in this condition.
so if all was fine before hand, it is something you done.
Those ***** are distracting.
So to follow up. I took the bike to the dealer and what do you know, they said I need a new radio. I installed an older tape radio into a 07 egs. They said it couldn't be done. Well the connector matched up so I plugged it in. The bus error is from the newer style computer. It is not sending the radio the speed information so the radio will get quiter or louder depending on how fast you are going. The dealer wanted me to buy a new radio, I told them to figure it out because a new radio was out of the question. Sure enough, disconnect one wire and the whole thing works fine. It just stays loud when I come to a stop sign.
