I just stopped by the dealer a week ago to talk with them about the broken "fairing bracket" was told they never had anyone with a FLHX with that problem....[sm=icon_rofl.gif]I'm thinking about printing off a couple of hundered responses to the forums about this problem and dropping them off so they can see what is happening outside their little world.

Look in the service manual, there is three or four pages on how to do an alignment on the bike, special tools ect. I think the dealer just doesn't like taken the time to do it right?

Not to side with any dealer but you really should hear some of the stupid crap some people come in asking about. I hung around 1 dealer waiting on my bike and some of the questions people ask about their bikes will make you laugh. I think most dealers will say "it's normal" just to get rid of you because there are many people who will NEVER be happy with their purchase and they think that with every problem should come the keys to a new bike. Need i mention a few names? Yes, some people have legitimate complaints but they pale in comparison to the many who either like to complain or find problems where none exist.

Believe it or not there are boat loads of people who you cannot satisfy and those are the ones the dealers will try to steer clear of. I think if you feel you truly have a problem they should look at it but if they find nothing you should be billed for them looking. That might slow down some of those who just like going to the dealer for and noise they feel needs to be heard or to make a friend.

Spending 20k+ on a bike does not give you access to a lifetime of trouble free riding and buying a warranty does not guarantee friendly service. Some people will find that looking for a dealer to cater to their every need will be hard to find. When the problem is not the dealer then what?

Now more than ever the dealers are full of people who have never owned a rattle trap and expect them to be flawless and run forever. Some will have real issues that need to be addressed and some just won't be happy until they get a new motor because the tail light keeps burning out. Now with all these goobers getting into the HD world you might here "it's normal" more often.

My bike would go straight for a 1/4 mile then lean to the right. I just moved my tool bag and found that good enough. I will do whatever i can to keep from going to the dealer because i would rather ride than wait at the dealer.

Only dealer in town, but I don't think they are all bad. I can remeber them helping me out back in the 80s with my Honda and few years ago with the BMW. And once I got the owner in on it, they fixed the problem so I don't think I am going to give up on them yet.

They have some new techs, maybe they are scared to ask for help.

As said before your bike should not pull to either side. I can take my hands off and lean back with the cruise on and it will go for miles on a flat road. Yeah, the primary side looks fatter but the balance should be dead on.

A lifetime of warranty...no, but a year is what they promise.

how the hell does a motorcycle wheel pull to the left. im not doubting in any way but isnt it impossible.
No itisn't impossible. There are dozens of things that can cause a bike to pull one way or the other. He is not talking about the front wheel going left, he means the entire bike drifting left. He has a problem that shouldn't be all that difficult to fix is someone would just take a serious look at the bike.

I see your point to a certain extent, but I have spent around $50,000 at one HD dealer in the last three years. I pay msrp like most everyone esle for almost everything there. They don't give me any "special" deals and I expect my bike to be treated with the utmost of care from them. I won't settle for anything less than perfect from a new bike. No different than anything new I buy. As long as it is under warranty, I expect every single detail that is covered under warranty to be fixed or replaced if any problem arises.

No, I have no idea if your problem is real or in your head. I was just giving my reason for you hearing that "it's normal" from the dealer and if you feel it is a real problem you might have to push a little to get it looked at and corrected. Don't give up the first time you hear that. My point may have wobbled a little after driving for 20 hrs but was aimed at some dealers hearing all kinds of crap making it harder on people like yourself with real problems.
