Another option is to google the vast information on aligning a motorcycle using the string method. Some folks have even fabricated a handy thing-a-ma-jig to put on the engine guard when doing this. I think it was over on the HTT board that they were discussing the brace to do the string method and get the bike in alignment.

Not to side with any dealer but you really should hear some of the stupid crap some people come in asking about. I hung around 1 dealer waiting on my bike and some of the questions people ask about their bikes will make you laugh. I think most dealers will say "it's normal" just to get rid of you because there are many people who will NEVER be happy with their purchase and they think that with every problem should come the keys to a new bike. Need i mention a few names? Yes, some people have legitimate complaints but they pale in comparison to the many who either like to complain or find problems where none exist.

Believe it or not there are boat loads of people who you cannot satisfy and those are the ones the dealers will try to steer clear of. I think if you feel you truly have a problem they should look at it but if they find nothing you should be billed for them looking. That might slow down some of those who just like going to the dealer for and noise they feel needs to be heard or to make a friend.

Spending 20k+ on a bike does not give you access to a lifetime of trouble free riding and buying a warranty does not guarantee friendly service. Some people will find that looking for a dealer to cater to their every need will be hard to find. When the problem is not the dealer then what?

Now more than ever the dealers are full of people who have never owned a rattle trap and expect them to be flawless and run forever. Some will have real issues that need to be addressed and some just won't be happy until they get a new motor because the tail light keeps burning out. Now with all these goobers getting into the HD world you might here "it's normal" more often.

My bike would go straight for a 1/4 mile then lean to the right. I just moved my tool bag and found that good enough. I will do whatever i can to keep from going to the dealer because i would rather ride than wait at the dealer.

Are you trying to say I am making this shi! up? or what.

I don't have time for this

I just had my front-end re-aligned to remedy dragging brakes, seriously dragging.

My bike pulled to the left before that, and still does. Hm, my winker hangs to the left, I must have a weight distribution problem???

Acutally, up on thestand, turn the wheel to the right and let go, it goes tothe left. From what Itraced, itis tension on the clutchcable. It only pulls slightly, andIdon'tpull any Indian Larry tricks, so I think I'm going to leave thisalone.
