Solution: Install the SG facia (assuming your '04 RG is a SG color so you won't need to paint the facia) with MG's free for the cost of shippping LED and a few nuts and bolts to mount the facia--much better looking than the fender extension on your RG IMO.

It sure looks nice an all, but the price they want! You can get a real good deal on a 48 LED fender tip LED with running light and super bright break light that is basiclly plug an play. Ride Time Technology.

Harleypingman andmvinc01 I know there is a REALLY good thread here showing the whole process of adding the SG Facia. I will check that out again. I actually just moved my antenna back to the stock location and wanted to filler panels also but they will not work on a RG unless I move the antenna (again). I looked at the SG Facia but I dont think the SG came in Sierra Red, does anyone know if you can get it not painted? I actually really dig the facia, better but I was not sure how much work it would be to change the color of it. Does the facia come with the LED or doyou have to buy that separate, I know Mike Grasso has one but if the facia comes with one I would rather someone else take it if needed.

You can order the part primed. It does not come with the LED light. Most people instead of ordering the light from the parts book order the run/brake light from a kit breakdown of the fendertip assembly for just slightly more.

Thank you dawg for the quick response. I really did not want to drill in my fender. Is the light on the SG a run/break light, because I thought there was a spearate purchase for the run/break light.

The SG facia primed is list price of 56 bucks.

PPG paint code: Sierra Red B/C 902850 according to info posted by BVBOB on another forum.

Any LED you use would be a seperate purchase--the facia is sold by HDw/o the LED. The stock SG's come with a run light-only LED. The P&A catalog lists the replacement LED that is run and brake light. The stock SG LED is about 50 bucks; the run/brake light version is about 90.

The facia, mounted per the HD way, uses two stud plates with three threaded studs mounted inside bothsides of the fender. The facia has tabs that mate to these threaded studs and is secured with nuts. A RG fender would need to be drilled for those holes--three on each side. Alternatively, some guys have mounted the facia on RG and RK Customs using double-sided 3M tape instead of drilling the holes.

You can keep the antenna on the rear like the SG does from the factory.

Good luck with your project.

Yes that is the thread I was looking at before, andI think this is the way I am going to go. I am just a bit confused in what hardware I need. For a RG do I just need the Facia and the LED? It looks like the sides are attached via the double sided tape and the bottom is bolted to the brack that I already have. I will look at my fender this weekend since I am reallynot sure what is there.

Harleypingman I know you have answered my questionsbefore and I REALLY appreiciate all your help. And a BIG thanks to everyone else that replied.

I would give my left nut for a fender like yours and a facia. They are around on e-bay for about 100 bills and the paint from HD is 20 so you could paint it!

Sorry I have not replied in a bit, busy weekend.

So I looked at the other thread that used 3M tape to attach it. I looked through it and it looks like there it somehow attaches the the bracket behind the bottom of the fender (I think the bracket supports the bottom of the bags). Then you either drill 3 holes on each side of the fender to mount or use the 3M tape? So if I go the 3M tape router there is nothing else I need other then the LED and the wiring?

Thanks
